We need to add an experienced RN to our team. This position is responsible for providing

Wound and Ostomy Nurse: Full-Time

Meriter Hospital is a 448-bed, not-for-profit community hospital offering a wide-ranging scope of medical and surgical services to residents from throughout southern Wisconsin. It is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Wisconsin, and the fifth largest hospital in Wisconsin.

The Wound/Ostomy nurse functions as an integral member of the patient care team by providing specialized direct nursing care to a specific group of patients with stomas, fistulas, pressure sores, drains, incontinence or other skin/wound problems. The Wound/Ostomy nurse provides education to nursing staff regarding this patient population. This position develops plans of care, evaluates achievement of nursing outcomes, revises plans and monitors the on going quality of care given to these patients. The ideal candidate will have: BSN from an accredited school of nursing; Licensed to practice in Wisconsin; Graduate of WOCN accredited professional education program; 2 years appropriate clinical experience; WOCNCB certification; Flexible in responding to the changing needs of the organization; Positive skills in communication, (verbal and written) problem solving, and previous work experience which indicates successful ability to assume responsibilities with a team context. Must be willing to be a productive team member and interested in contributing to the continuous improvement of quality patient care.

This position is full-time; however consideration will be made to decrease the FTE based upon the ideal candidates needs.
