Director of Student Health Service
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Director of Student Health Service responsibilities are divided between administration and direct primary care. Responsible for clinic management including administrative, budgetary, and personnel matters (staff of 21), quality assurance, facility/equipment needs, electronic records, and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. The director, in collaboration with an on-staff physician medical director, is responsible for the provision of medical services to university students and medical supervision of services provided by clinical and nursing staff.
The Director provides professional leadership in primary care medicine, preventive health care, and health promotion, serves on University committees and is the advisor to student groups.
The qualifications for this position are:
The Physician Assistant candidate will have a current Wisconsin license or eligibility to practice in Wisconsin and a current DEA registration or eligibility; will hold a diploma from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants; and be currently certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
